This one could be boring, read on if you have nothing to do!!

Yesterday, an old lady boarded the bus. She was unable to walk properly and was trembling…she was OLD…like really OLD. She had two light weight paper bags, I presume with some basic groceries did not seem to be heavy….she attempted to sit and almost fell down before I reached for her. But she could manage without my hand since the bus was not yet moving.
Bus started moving and then the lady tried to change to the opposite seat (with her bags) and almost fell down before another old lady (not very OLD…u know what I mean??) caught her from behind. She started mumbling and was saying it was a bad day as she got hurt (looked to be another small bruise) in the mall and was showing a band aid on her hand. A few inches from her band aid we noticed blood …. It looked to be from a fresh bruise….supposedly from a skin peel off when she was caught from falling down… none of us were sure how it happened. It was not a lot of blood but her shirt got wet with blood stains which the driver noticed. Here comes the main aspect of this post….driver pulled over the bus…called someone and said an old lady met with an accident in the bus….gave small cards to write about the incident … insisted on calling an ambulance…a what??? Yes that was my reaction… that’s correct your read it correct…an ambulance.

All the while the old lady was saying she is fine and she wants to go home (just 2 blocks from where the bus stopped) clean up and apply something (I did not understand). She said no for an ambulance and refused to give her name….he said the same to some other guy on the phone and was not sure what he should do… clearly he was not happy about the whole situation and was kind of looked frustrated about the old lady… he kept mumbling that… it’s an accident… what if your hand is fractured or what if that happens this happens after you go home etc etc…It did not seem to be serious not at least to me again I am no doc…but…the other lady caught her even before she came in contact with any hard object… the bruise I guess was caused by rupture of her skin…anyways…finally the lady conceded to driver and said yes for an ambulance.
Me, the other old lady and another student (yes only 4 of us in the bus)… got down and started walking to the next bus stop after handing over the cards with the info explaining what happened.

It was clear that the driver was over reacting (could be out of fear/liability or whatever) and the old lady was not supposed to be walking outside without some sort of aide. Hey not blaming anyone here…. poor lady had a bad day….bottom-line such over hyped exaggeration and over reactions will probably happen only in USA.

After a vibrant & beautiful celebration of democracy which witnessed voting from around 60% of the 1 billion Indian population we may say that our electorate has come of age.

The results of the election in more than one way is a mandate for the need of the hour, a stable government. Amidst the uncertainty of your job and my job the least we would want is an uncertain government at the center. It gives less chance for parties like the communists from becoming a pain in the governments ass and similarly less chances of government being persuaded to save people like Lalu, Mulayam and Mayawati in the name of support.

This outcome in many ways should be a lesson to the third, fourth or any possible formation of a fifth front attempts by parties like NCP, RJD, SP, BSP, ADMK, LJP (this one is a joke), TRS and the rest of the alphabet soup with a pure myopic motive to grab power. My problem is not with the existance of these smaller mushrooms, my problem is with these parties getting to dictate terms on aspects that have equal impact on every citizen of India and not just a specific region or state.

Of course not everything is colorful out there, MK Karunanidhi has managed to break fast from the Srilankan Tamil cause and is out in Delhi demanding cabinet posts for his kids because of the 18 MPs his party managed to win. Its high time Congress and BJP start contesting without these alies in states.

Being a BJPian myself I still feel relaxed and happy even with a Congress lead gov. at center because we can expect to have a stable 5 years ahead and have an able parliamentarian in the form of Manmohn Singh as India's CEO than whooo???? Mayawati.

I wish that 2014 elections will result in a much clear mandate towards one of the large parties (hopefully BJP because without compitetion Congress will consume another 50 years to get you (probably ur kids) nuts) and complete the transformation from coalition politics haunting India from the 90's. And let us hope that BJP will shed off its "communal" shades and congress stops blabering about it being "secular" by 2014.

Just to evade of any arguments from any of you supporting Mayawati or for that matter to generalize any of these regional parties check out these...

A couple of days back I saw 'The Incredible Hulk' movie (no this isn't another stupid movie review) in which the protagonist gets exposed to alpha beta gamma kind of radiation crap and often turns green and huge when he gets pissed off. Man I never understood this...why the hell should we mess with dangerous stuff and then get screwed up??...ok that's not my problem. Years back I saw the original version of this movie titled 'Hulk'.

Now these are from the part 1 and show us Eric Bana as Bruce Banner (the hulk guy) just after he turns back to human like when the heat in his *** chilled down.
Now this is the one which shows him in full size. Accepted that this radiation crap changed his DNA or whatever and make him hulk when he gets angry.

But how the hell does his underwear change its size with him???????

Ok ok I know I know, I shouldn't search for physics in sci-fi movies....but just food for a funny thought....isn't it [:p]?

The sequel did address this question...or atleast Bruce was shown purchasing a stretchable....but u know the gap still lies...how can it stretch to anything like that...??? hell...who cares...??

Since kk revealed the name on comments so early ill just complete this post. The guy on this shirt and many such t-shirts is 'Ernesto Che Guevara' an Argentine communist/Maoist. Time Magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century and this photograph of his was declared 'the most famous photograph in the world', no wonder he made onto millions of t-shirts across the globe.

I asked a number of my friends before I posted this here and many who actually had this t-shirt dint know who it was. The idea of this post was simply to show how ignorant we often tend to become about things in our daily life! Of course we don't need to know about every damn thing we use....but jus like dat u know ;-)

We humans are the most foolish flock probably in the entire universe because I think we dint yet find another universe or more of living idiots like us in this very universe. Now even if that makes you angry you wouldn't want to kill me after you read this post...

In the last 100 years we can probably be sure to know well, there could be millions of events to infer that we humans dig our own grave. Since my lifetime would not be sufficient to collect all instances of our idiotism I tried to list a few I felt is stupidity at its acme.

Pakistan, is what one can arguably consider as one of those who fathered the birth of modern Islamic terrorism. From fueling the birth of Taliban's & Al Qaeda in Afghanistan to ISI. Yesterdays bombing of the 5 star kinda Marriott in the heart of Islamabad is enough to infer that they are facing the brunt of their own creation. And the consequences are here for all to see. Simply put they have dug up their own grave.United States of America, the richest super power on the globe yet the most foolish of all because they dig multiples graves for themselves.

Creation & Destruction of Taliban's and Osama Bin Laden...
Do you know CIA/USA is the brain child behind Taliban & OB Laden? CIA created, trained, funded, supported and fed the Islamic fundamentalists in Afghanistan to fight the Russian army (during soviet war on Afghanistan) pre USSR dissolution (it withdrew from Afghanistan in 1989 loosing the war) and to destabilize Iran post Soviet withdrawal. In the mid 90's CIA spent billions of dollars to establish taliban regim in Afghanistan which it later destroyed by spending more billions post 9/11. The worst, NYTimes even reported Osama as CIA employee.

Creation & Destruction of Saddam Hussein...
Yes you read that right, SH was also created by USA. Many of us knew SH as the brutal dictator who invaded Kuwait and the US with its allied forces confronted (Persian Gulf War) with Iraq to save the little know Kuwait. But the lesser known fact is SH became the dictator of Iraq only because of the American help. In his early 20's SH was used by US to kill (failed attempt) the then Iraqi PM some Qasim because he ditched US and its allies to join hands with the Soviets and installing communists in top positions. Later Qasim was killed in a coup under the wishful eye of CIA (alleged). And post Qasim in the 80's US supported and helped SH to set up his dictatorship on Iraq since he was against Iran (again the same as Afghanistan premise). It was during this period Donal Rumsfeld visited Iraq and US suppied Iraq with military intelligence and even arms according to a report in the Sunday Herald. And at the end US had to spend billions of dollars and loose thousands of its soldiers to remove & kill the moster they created. Link to a documentary on the raise and fall of the dictator.

Vietnam War...
Fear of the Domino theory (spread of communism) was considered to be the reason behind American intervention in Vietnam. After the french lost to the pro-communist armies of North Vietnam (who were backed by the Soviets and Communist part of China) US feared the domino theory and the spread of communism in Southeast Asia. What started as a help (during the Kennedy rule in USA) to the South Vietnam (non communist) leader to fight against North Vietnam US ended-up into a full scale war on North Vietnam (after a false story created by the then American president Johnson) only to loose 60,000 soldiers and billions of dollars. The worst, they lost the war and had to withdraw (actually ran away) from Vietnam.

All USA could achieve out of these and many such political and military aggressions is loss of thousands of American lives (both civilian and military) and trillions of dollars wasted. The biggest grave they could dig for themselves.

USSR - The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, arguably the largest country in the world until 1991 when it collapsed into 15 independent small countries. A victim of communism amalgamated with corruption, bureaucracy and various other factors led to the fall of USSR. World War 2, finger in Vietnam's ***, lost Afghanistan war (often compared to USA loss in Vietnam), communist policies were spades for their grave.

India, last but the most important for us. We are not far behind USA, our mistakes can even be dated back to few centuries.

Lack of unity, this quality of ours can be dated back to even 336 BC when it was told that Alexander from Greece defeated the pauravan king with the help of the ambhi, king of taxila. (now thats even difficult to sound those names properly...its too old isnt it :)). And the same repeated with Islamic invaders from Arab countires, the British rule, now even in Independent India.

But the biggest mistake I presume was done by Congress and MKGandhi who conceded (for their own political reasons) to Muslim demand for separate country and there by allowed for partition of India under the watchful eye of Lord Mountbatten into Dominion of Pakistan and The Union of India.

Kashmir's accession to India...the worst thing to happen for independent India. This can be considered as inception of digging our own grave. Thousands of Indian soldiers were consumed by the Pakistan funded insurgents in the kashmir conflict. According to a report in India Today India spent crores of rupees on Kashmir to bring its poverty line to a mery 3.4% when the rest of the country was at 26%. A look at this IT article shows how much we spent on our part of Kashmir and how much Pakistan spent on POK. There is also another side of this conflict, Indian army & even the Pakistani insurgents were alleged to have violated human rights in Kashmir by killing Kashmiri's and by sexual abuse of Kashmiri women.
After all these years of struggle, loss of Indian soldier, civilians, crores of money spent what is it that India have today? Muslims in Kashmir want to join Pakistan!

Indo-Pak war of 1971....Indian government support for the liberation of Bangladesh resulted in the Indepedent east pakistani state now called Bangladesh. Over 4000 Indian soldier died, 10, 000 injured and crores of rupees spent resulted to the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan. After about 35 year of its creation with Indian help Bangladesh and its citizens are repaying India in the form of HUJI like terror outfits who actively reduce Indian population.

As I said in the beginning these were a few instances of we humans digging our own grave. Though a lot of research went into the creation of this post not everything could be factual since everything I gathered was from news and random links. Some versions of the events could be biased and only present one side (obviously my view/side) of the story, but then the fact remains that we are spending a lot of our money, resources and energy only to kill each other on the pretext of religion and ideological differences.

A report in TOI says India is a hot favorite holiday spot for terrorists and its only second to the war torn Iraq in numbers, be it in terror incidents or the number of deaths. The most startling reveal of the report is that since 2004 India lost more lives to terror incidents than all of North America, South America, Central America, Europe, Eurasia put together. On the contrary terror nation Pakistan is way below on that chart. Yet the worlds top cricketing nation, its players and its board Cricket Australia known for their professional approach to cricket consider India a safe heaven to play cricket and decide not to abandon their India tour just a couple of days after a series of blasts rock the Indian capital.

ACA chief Paul Marsh becomes defensive and proactively admits that (in his words) "if the team stays in India, there might be some who criticize us for double standards. But people need to understand our starting is that we always want to tour." .......where there is "MONEY" (missing words of his sentence).

The mass-energy equivalence, a simple law of nature derived by Albert Einstein became the cause of worlds nuclear chaos. From countries developing nuclear weapons to kill fellow human beings to billions of currency exchange over nuclear commerce amidst billions and billions of human beings across the globe starving due to lack of a handful of edible food and few drops of water to quench their thirst.

No I am no comrade in red and this isn't another nuke deal (Indo-US) bashing article neither is it a pro nuke deal, i mean I make no conclusions on whether its good or bad for India to spend $150 billion dollars to buy nuclear fuel and associated technology from USA to increase our nuclear contributed power generation from a merry 3% to a whooping 5 or 7% by 2020. There are 10's of blogs and news articles doing that, so this is a simple attempt to key-in my rambling thoughts on this.

If I am not being over cautious about life, every other nuclear power plant (NPP) is a dirty bomb in your own backyard. Can this image bring you any fogyish idea of my intentions? did you hear Chernobyl?

Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the then Soviet Union is the epicenter for the worst nuclear accident (26 April 1986) world has seen. An official report from IAEA & WHO claimed that the disaster caused 56 direct deaths (47 accident workers & 9 children with thyroid cancer) and estimated that there may be 4,000 extra cancer cases among the approximately 600,000 most highly exposed (t0 radiation) and 5,000 among the 6 million living nearby. Although the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and certain limited areas will remain off limits, the majority of affected areas are now considered safe for settlement and economic activity (after how many??? 20 years) [Content & Image Courtesy Wiki].

From 1950's to 2000's there are 21 of these nuclear accidents across the globe. Visit this for a SimpleList and this for a ComprehensiveList of all accidents. Probably if a few hundreds were direct deaths thousands would have suffered the agony of living the aftermath (I think dieing was better than sulking on the bed for years with cancer kind of illness). Do you feel a sense of relief because we don't fair on that list? Think again we aren't too good at this, if at all our plants were not shutdown for "maintenance" (as claimed by NPCIL) we have our share (if published) of "incidents" (nuclear jargon to indicate low impact accidents). NAPS Unit-2, KAPS back into operation, MAPS (first paragraph), Kalpakkam 'Incident' are a few published I could pick.

A source from the US Library of congress (last paragraph) claims that we have the most inefficient nuclear power plants in the world. Though debetable may be we should not shoot the guy who said it because in a country whose Prime Minister can involve in a scam like bofors guns compromising national security anything is possible.

In the loving memory of all those perished souls I only wish and hope that the daunting mission mankind has embarked on would not consume our planet and leave a working version of it for the generations to come!!

a 'day'mare with side effects

'day'mare because I was fortunate to have seen this during day, hard to imagine if I had to witness this treachery as a night show. Yes this post is about a movie not the idevice and its Homam made by J.D.Chakravarthy. Not that many people i know would watch this movie, but its only to save JD (don't know why but even after watching this preposterous movie he still manages to have my sympathy) from people who may consider flogging him for wasting their time and money.
A cheap, flawed, technically screwed, amateurish, copy of the Oscar winning Hollywood flick of '06 'The Departed' which actually is an American version of the Hong kong flick Mou Gaan Dou (which I must confess i haven't seen). I felt 'The Departed' is a splatter film with tons of flowing blood from bullet wounds and gore action sequences, but it was one hell of a movie and deserved an Oscar for compelling performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg etc...
The JD version of this Telugu adaptation is a completely flawed trash to qualify as a film for release. He must have taken inspiration from Aag made by his mentor Ram Gopal Verma. So coming to the premise this is about two characters an undercover good cop played by the melodrama hero Jagapati Babu (whose identity is a secret) and a bad cop played by JD himself (whose identity is well know and respected). I may not be able to list all the screwed up shots of this bull shit but here are few...

An misfitting love track for the bad cop JD himself (he employed an unknown chick who was ready to offer as many smooches as JD wanted, onscreen i mean u naughty).
Horrible screenplay, pieces of uncanny and unrelated camera shots stitched together as a movie
Tons of consistency goofs as simple as hair styles of lead characters (in a sequence heroin sports a curly hair and in the same sequence in another shot she has a straightened hair, same cars used by villains in one shot and the hero in another etc........and the agony continues)
JD flaunting his bare legs in his undies (not even the boxer kind) as if he worked out some 100 packs on this thighs
Stupidly shot action sequences (you can see or may be even feel the cushions laid on the floor for climax fight)
A hot doctor chick falling for a 3rd grade goonda for some unknown reasons. This again is a misfitting love track designed for the so called Indian Hero character
Like all Indian gangster movies a hot pulsating (directors think so) item number song (horrible in this one)

And the list will go on and on but i don't want to waste more then 15 minutes to complete this post so ill end the list there. The only reprise for this movie comes in the form of...

Climax for which JD may have developed 6 packs on his brain by thinking. But like every other Indian movie the good cop wins over the bad cop which is some what different from 'The Departed'
Second reprise was we dint get to see a second item number song (done by Sakshi Sivanand, yesteryear's hot chick of Mohan Babu). This song was shown in the movie trailers on TV but was chopped off when I saw, thanks to the culprit.

My idea of wasting 15 minutes to write this one is only to tell you "Do not watch HOMAM movie" (not even on a rented CD/DVD and worst not even free online for folks in USA). Makers of the movie 'The Departed' must consider suing JD not for copying their script but for making a mockery of it in his version.

Watching some sleazy porn is time better wasted!

Ok here I am finally doing it almost 6 months after I named my blog…I mean writing my first post. But this wasn’t the topic I wanted to make my first write-up on, I was intending to dig dig dig dig and dig everything about origin of blogs and make all the information as my first post…how stupid as if there wasn’t enough archeological information on blogs. And what happened??? I was only digging and digging never completing my write-up so finally vexed up with my own digging I decided to write this one, also because it made little sense…I mean at least to me.

Fine before you are pissed off ill come to the title of this post…31000 rupees for the basic model is toooo expensive is that what you think??. One intelligent soul said he would buy a laptop with that kind of money as if he can hold it to his ear and call a friend while standing in a hyderabadi city bus or a mumbai train while smelling the other fellows aromatic deodorant (if he uses) in the morning and his aromatic natural fragrance in the evening.

Yes, spending Rs.31000 for a piece of silicon slab sounds expensive but hey hang-on, expensive when compared to what?? If you say compared to the $199 it’s sold for in USA then I must say you are being naïve and uninformed. Let me put some math here and fill some sense into what I say…all the figures (money I mean u silly) are excluding taxes, basic/cheapest plans and does not include the extra hours you fun over phone with your chick/dude.

Now this table should show you how cheap iPhone in India is. Ok there are other arguments that you don't have 3G in India so is it worth all that money but thats not the problem of Apple nor the iPhone 3G...and compared to spending Rs.34k for Nokia E90 (the communicator brick) this is a wise choice. It's targetted at a completly different section of India, it's for those who are ready to shell out 30+k for Nokia E brick like phone which has lot of useless (i mean bcz of the 2G network in India) features (like browsing internet) and not for a vegetable vendor who may take tons of problems to Apple or network providers if he starts using a phone with 3.5" of glass as display.

And the above figures as I said are just the basic/cheapest plans Chris Foresman @ arstechnica says the average monthly bill of an iPhone 3G user in USA is $97 (he did some math to show his point), taking this figure in 2 years its costing $2527 (that's a whooping Rs.106134). If you consider to draw out an average monthly bill in India (even if you want you wont be able to use a lot of internet in India because of the maximum possible speed being very less on our 2G network so the internet bill amount will be meager and you know how cheap calling has become) it would be much much less than 1 plus lakh rupees in 2 years.

So what the hell is all the fuss about??? iPhone in India is cheap when compared to probably anywhere in the world. And for all those who complain about the features ill probably make it in my next posting. So do u think I am using the i Device?? nope not yet, ill tell you why in my next post along with the features issue.
